Little Leaf is a unique nature preschool for children ages 2 - 5. Our educators are passionate early childhood experts who place play, social-emotional learning and the natural world at the heart of the children's days. The curriculum is emergent and play-based, inspired by the Reggio Emilia and Waldorf pedagogies. The global Nature Pre-school Movement and the Coyote Mentoring approach enliven our daily work.
We have beautiful indoor classrooms as well as acres of the natural world to explore at all of our sites.
Little Leaf is comprised of three locations; the Andrus-on-Hudson campus in Hastings-on-Hudson, the Lenoir Nature Preserve in Yonkers, and Teatown Lake Reservation in Ossining.
Little Leaf is a member of the Eastern Region Association of Forest Kindergarten and Nature Schools, the Childcare Council of Westchester, and the National Association of the Young Child. Little Leaf at Andrus-on-Hudson and Little Leaf at Lenoir Nature Preserve are licensed by the State of NY Office of Children and Family Services.
